The Cold Comes Clean

Freezing temperatures have arrived here at SBU. Even though the temperature really isn't the issue, the wind is the real problem. According to my computer it is 23 degrees Fahrenheit outside though I'm sure its colder due to the wind. It would nice if it didn't look so desolate and dead outside. Its miserable. Luckily I have many layers that I can just pile on my body without complaint so the cold doesn't really affect me.

Hey Look a Pond

To be more specific it is Roth Pond, the quite foul and sorry excuse for a body of water that inhabits a small part of this campus.
I love the carved path out of the snow.

Oh yea, the Library!

I had to go to the library to pick up some plays for a committee that I head up and I looked up and saw snow! After some quick thinking I took out my camera and snapped these two beauties.
I love the way light refracts and disperses in snow. I get a warm glowy feeling on the inside.

Ice and Snow, Ice

We have more ICE. I come from sunny California expecting SNOW, SNOW!!!!!!!! There is a little bit of snow, but most of it is frozen over into a solid state.

Yes, that covering the tennis/basketball court is ice, not snow.

The day that picture above was taken, it snowed, then rained, then it got so cold that all the water still left on the ground froze. Since it's been relatively warm, in the 40's (that's depressing), all the ice melts during the day and since it gets so cold at night all the water freezes again! It's a lot of fun navigating to classes.
